Anna Lawrence is particularly interested in exploring interactions of the magical and the industrial in both poetry and prose. Her first novel, Ruby’s Spoon, is set in a fictional Black Country town with intimations of witches and mermaids (Chatto & Windus, 2010). She lectures in creative writing at Birmingham City University. Anna won 2nd prize in the Bare Fiction Prize for Poetry 2015.
